It seemed, Roger just can`t get more grumpy, then he was at the start of the first of triple crown races, but today he proove, that he could. But that was already not some blue mood, it was mixed fine with rage. He looked so, as if he was ready to climb on those nasty clouds and go, kick ass to the God for this s*** instead of normal racing weather. It was even more annoying that yearstoday it was still fine, but today, in the morning of the race... Roger knew perfectly, that their golden boy, Asauchi, is no crocodile horse by any meaning. He could not cope with slippery mood as well as he should be.
On firm ground he was the Sun Prince, fabulous and great at his top speed, but when it comes to slippery track, each time their lion turned into blind kitten... with no head, so in such weather it was incredibly important to lead the stallion properly. In such conditions it was a question about his safety more then of victory. Once Asauchi already hit the rail with his head on a sloppy track, that was pure luck that he stayed safe and got just few scratches.
Roger looked at sky and was fighting with desire to scratch stallion from the race.
But he did not. With heavy heart he was watching, how
Trainer was speaking quickly all the tips to Aston for the last time. It seemed as if he tried get influence on the situation with his words, like spells or mantra would do.
-And remember, Aston, it would be better if he`ll crawl like grand sloth in the back end of racing group, then he`ll run as he can and will crash. And believe me.. oh.. you know that by yourself perfectly - he can do that. He is clumsy enough for that.
With the heavy heart, Roger was watching as horses are gathering for the start.
At warmup Asauchi was very excited and in front of gates he pretended that he`s a show jumper, he reared up, made a jump and a buck and one more before he entered his starting box finally.
Aston already felt that it was easier to say to hold stallion back, then to do.
After the start, worse expectations came true. Light headed stallion rushed forward as if he did not see the mud at all. He was not going to stay behind and very soon he got nose to nose with bay filly on the track. Everyone tryed to stay a bit further from rail and slippery deep mud right near it, but Asauchi was unstopable and hardly controlled with those slippery reins. Aston hissed at stallion in the last attempt to try to hold him, but he was strugling too hard against the reins, Asauchi took that place near rail and in few seconds on a turn slipped in mud, sending Aston almost onto his neck. Asauchi almost collided with Scythian Empires, but luckily splits of second devided both riders and horses from really nasty accident.

Just to see what imma talking about:
